Could this be you. We are currently underway with Governor Elections for seats available on Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust’s  Council of Governors.

Why become a Governor?

Being a Governor can be very rewarding and interesting.  Governors play a vital role in shaping the future direction of the Trust and the services provided to local communities.

Becoming a Governor is a good way to build your knowledge about what is going on in the Trust and the wider NHS.

The role of a Governor is voluntary and there is no payment made for the role with the exception of authorised expenses.  One term of office is three years.  Governors may not hold more than nine years in total or three terms of office.

By becoming a Governor, you will:

Represent the interests of the Trust membership (which includes staff, patients, and local residents) and the wider public.

Hold the Non-Executive Directors to account for the performance of the Board of Directors.

Appoint and agree the remuneration for the Chairman and Non-Executive Directors.

Approve an appointment (by the Non-Executive Directors) of the Chief Executive.

If you would like to find more about being a Governor go to https://www.hdft.nhs.uk/about/council-of-governors/governor-elections/ or about anything related to being a member, please contact Angie Colvin, Corporate Affairs and Membership Manager by emailing hdft.membership@nhs.net
